Jenna + Justin | Styled Mountaintop Elopement, Victoria BC Wedding Photography
Breathtakingly beautiful seascapes that plunge and dance and embrace you with their clear salty air and never ending beaches. The sun, warm and full across your shoulders as it peaks through sky bound cedars and twisting arbutus trees. This is love for many who choose to make Vancouver Island their home, and no exception forJenna and Justin our real couple in this epic styled elopement. They met at a hiking club and became great friends who shared a love for hiking, camping and beaches. This magical place where moss covers some trees from top to bottom and Killer Whales make a daily appearance is the perfect medium for growing love and the strong bond of friendship between Justin and Jenna was the seed that blossomed into a sweet and all encompassing love that is evident when first meeting this stunning, down to earth funny couple.
The location for this shoot was chosen for its splendid and lovely 15 minute hike to Lone Tree Hill. Wild succulents, Arbutus Trees and beds of various mosses line the trail that leads to a sight not many have the chance to behold. The sunset of all Sunsets was the back drop as they read each-other hand written poetry and recalled the moments of their very first meeting and when they each knew it was really love. Jenna, who is actually a model represented by Coultish Agency looked stunning in an ivory dress made from vintage cut work lace and a white boho lace gown made with reclaimed linens and lace. Both dresses are by the sustainable design label Reclamation where designer Trista Smith uses reclaimed materials to create one of a kind pieces. Jenna’s hair was rolled into a gorgeous horizontal chignon by hair and make up artist Erin Bradley. Her soft yet sophisticated make up complimented her beautiful ivory complexion and fiery red hair. The gorgeous crown of flowers and rustic yet elegant bridal bouquet designed by Karen Stones of A Sea of Bloom in Sooke finished off her bohemian princess look perfectly. A detachable veil made of reclaimed tulle, lace and beading by Reclamation caught the wind delicately and was easy to remove for a varied look. Justin could easily be mistaken for a model with his angular jawline and piercing eyes. He was styled impeccably by Dale at Outlooks For Men in Victoria. His navy suit with its slim pant and crisp linen shirt created a smooth and masculine silhouette in the soft light on Lone Tree Hill. The simple and rustic boutineer designed by A Sea of Bloom was the perfect touch. And finally, what kind of wedding would it be without a cake? The semi-naked devils food chocolate cake was filled and coated with Italian buttercream & was designed and constructed by Melissa Servant of Bits of Bliss Confectionary. The lovely cake Florals were chosen by A Sea Of Bloom and arranged lovingly by Melissa who hiked with us to the top of Lone Tree Hill just so she could style the cake. After the shoot ended at 9:15 pm and we all bumbled down the forest trail in the dark, we sat shoulder to shoulder on the ground and dug our fingers into this moist, delicious and dense cake. It was a fitting ending to an amazing night.
